Jessica Morris-Reade
A ghostwriter you can trust.
Trusting someone to bring your story to life is hard—very hard. You have to work with someone you trust, someone who will treat your ideas with respect.
I am an experienced ghostwriter who offers an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) with every consultation; that way, your ideas are sure to stay yours.
This is how ghostwriting with JMR Literary Services works:
After we've reached an agreement concerning fees and deadlines, you, the Author, will provide a detailed outline to me, the Ghostwriter. This outline will include all of the scenes in your story and character sketches, which will provide me with the descriptions and personal details of your characters.
Once the initial payment (advance) has been received by me, I will begin writing.
You can check on my progress by visiting the Pacemaker site particular to your project. This website lays out daily word count goals that I update every day—so you can see how much is being written on any given day. This site also tracks the completion percentage of the project, so you can ensure that I'm on track to finish by our agreed-upon deadline.
I prefer to send the Author(s) chapters as I finish them, for revision and feedback. I allow for up to two (2) revisions of each chapter.
I strive to provide the Author with a polished manuscript that closely adheres to their outline, but if during the writing process I discover plot holes, I will contact the Author so that these can be addressed.
The amount of detail in the outline will help streamline the writing process—more detailed=less room for ambiguity.
Upon completion of the project, I recommend Authors hire a proofreader. This ensures that there are no grammatical or syntax errors in the manuscript.
Yes, I am a ghostwriter AND an editor...but it is nearly impossible to objectively edit your own work. I always hire an outside editor to line edit my personally written novels.
Fee Structure:
Each project is different—this is mirrored in the pricing. The following are aspects that may bring about a higher or lower cost per word:
1. Am I being given authorial credit for the manuscript? If so, the cost per word will be less.
2. Is the deadline tight? For example, do you expect a full-length novel written in two months or six? Less time to write=higher cost.
3. Does this project include any research? Historical fiction, science fiction, and political fiction usually comes with a good deal of research. This will be reflected in the cost per word.
4. Total word count of the project. This one is rather obvious as more words equate to a higher per word cost.
